ACER's official LANTITE practice papers
Where to find them, what they cover, and what to do once you've taken one.
The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) administers LANTITE on behalf of AITSL. They also publish a set of free official practice papers — current (2023), earlier (2019), and the original archive (2017) — so candidates can see the format, timing, and difficulty before they sit. If you're preparing for LANTITE numeracy, these are the most authoritative free resources available, and the 2023 paper should be the first thing you take.

ACER publishes several free numeracy resources on the LANTITE candidate site — the current 2023 set plus earlier 2019 and 2017 papers that are still useful for extra practice. All are free, no account required.

What the ACER practice paper covers
- Real LANTITE format — multiple-choice and short-answer questions, mapped to the ACSF levels you'll face on test day.
- Both sections — the non-calculator section (13 questions, 26 minutes) and the calculator section.
- Authentic difficulty — ACER's questions are built to the same specification as the real test. If you find these tough, the real test will feel the same.
- Answer key — so you can mark yourself and get a raw score.
What ACER's papers don't give you
The practice papers are excellent for seeing the format and gauging your readiness. What they don't do — and aren't designed to do — is help you build a study plan from your score. Once you've finished, you have a raw number and a list of right-and-wrong answers. What's missing:
- A breakdown of where you went wrong by strand (Number & Algebra, Measurement & Geometry, Statistics & Probability).
- A breakdown by ACSF level — to know if you're solid at L3 but struggling with L4.
- Worked solutions that explain the reasoning, not just the answer.
- Targeted practice on the specific topics you got wrong.
