Free ACSF Level 3 Practice Test
ACSF Level 3 is the most commonly required level of the Australian Core Skills Framework: it is the exit standard for Victoria Police and Fire Rescue Victoria entrance testing, the entry expectation for most Certificate III and IV courses, and the benchmark most Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessments check.
What ACSF Level 3 means
- At Level 3 you can work confidently with fractions, decimals, percentages, rates, measurement and everyday statistics in a range of familiar and some less familiar contexts.
- You can read and interpret routine workplace texts, tables, charts and forms, and write clear structured paragraphs.
- Tasks can involve several steps and some interpretation: choosing the right operation, reading a graph before calculating, checking whether an answer is reasonable.
Who is assessed at Level 3?

What is ACSF Level 3?
Level 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework describes the numeracy and literacy needed for most trades, certificate courses and entry tests: fractions, decimals, percentages, rates, measurement, charts and routine workplace texts, handled across several steps with some interpretation.
Which tests use ACSF Level 3?
Victoria Police and Fire Rescue Victoria entrance tests are built to an exit Level 3 standard, and most Certificate III and IV courses screen applicants at Level 3 using an LLN assessment. Apprenticeship entry tests commonly sit at this level too.
Is this the official ACSF test?
There is no single official public ACSF test. Providers assess against the framework with their own tools (for example ACER's CSPA). This free practice test is built to the Level 3 descriptors so you can benchmark yourself before the real assessment.
