Australian Core Skills Framework

Free ACSF Level 4 Practice Test

ACSF Level 4 is the advanced-performance level of the Australian Core Skills Framework: complex, multi-step numeracy and literacy across familiar and unfamiliar contexts. It is the standard higher-level entry tests draw on, including a large share of the LANTITE (the teaching profession's literacy and numeracy test).

What ACSF Level 4 means

  • At Level 4 you can work with ratios, compound percentages, algebraic reasoning, statistical interpretation and multi-step problems where the method is not given.
  • You can synthesise information across several sources: a chart plus a table plus a paragraph, with distractor information present.
  • Contexts can be unfamiliar and abstract, and answers often need justification or checking against the situation.

ACSF Level 4: common questions

What is ACSF Level 4?

Level 4 of the Australian Core Skills Framework describes advanced everyday numeracy and literacy: multi-step problems, ratio and algebraic reasoning, statistical interpretation, and synthesising information across sources, including unfamiliar contexts.

Does LANTITE use ACSF Level 4?

LANTITE draws on ACSF Levels 2 to 5, with a large share of its questions at Level 4. If you are preparing for LANTITE, the full practice papers on this site mirror that distribution.

Should Level 3 candidates practise at Level 4?

Yes, deliberately. Training a level above your target standard makes the real test feel easier. Police and FRV candidates who are comfortable at Level 4 rarely struggle at exit Level 3.
