Week 1: find the gaps
- Day 1: sit the free 13-question diagnostic. Write down your percentage in each strand.
- Days 2 to 4: do ACER's official practice questions for numeracy, untimed, and read every worked solution.
- Days 5 to 7: sit Practice Paper 1 under time, calculator locked for Section 2. Read the strand and process-domain breakdown.
Weeks 2 and 3: drill the weakest strand
- Each day, 20 Skill Gym questions on your weakest strand. Percentages, fractions and decimals, and reading tables and charts are the most common gaps.
- Twice a week, 15 minutes on the calculator simulator: order of operations, memory keys, square roots and powers.
- End of each week: one full timed paper. Compare the strand percentages with the previous week.
Week 4: rehearse the test
- Two full papers under exam conditions, at the time of day you will sit the real test.
- Section 2 without a calculator, every time. It is the section people under-practise.
- Stop new material three days out. Review the worked solutions of the questions you got wrong on the last two papers.
Questions people ask
How long should I study for the LANTITE?
Four weeks of focused practice fits the gap between registration closing and the window opening. The diagnostic on day one tells you where to spend it.
What is the best way to prepare for LANTITE numeracy?
A diagnostic first, then full timed papers weekly with drills on the weakest strand between them, and calculator practice before the test.
